Have you heard of Google My Business?
Maybe you've seen a business appear on Google with their telephone number, a map showing where they are located, opening hours, reviews, phone number and wondered how you do that? It’s all done in an app called Google My Business.
Google My Business is a free service offered by Google, available to anyone with a Google/Gmail account. It can be used as a free advertising tool, to promote offers, compose blog posts, display photos of new products, list events being held, or as an online directory.
What type of features are on a Google My Business profile?
Within a business profile you can include a description of your business (max 750 characters), select categories*, list your services, display contact & address details, business hours, as well as display your logo and photos.
You can also receive and display Google reviews you have received from customers and link up to your social media platforms.
You can view analytical information on your listing and see statistics such as how many customers are clicking through to your website from your listing.
*up to 10 categories which best match your business (some categories may be unavailable)

Set you up with a free Gmail account, if you don't already have one, so you can access the Google My Business platform and other useful Google apps such as Gmail, Docs, Google Analytics, Google Alerts, Google Drive, and so on.

Add your business hours, location, website, opening hours, logo & photos,
Add your business location to the Google Map,
Create a post that will display once your account has been verified by Google#,
If you use an online booking app (ie. 10to8), we will link it up to your profile,
Work with you to verify your profile.

Get verified by Google
Once we have created your profile, Google will ask you to verify your profile. This is a security measure Google has put in place to ensure information is accurate and the owners are who they say they are!
To arrange verification, a postcard with a unique verification code will be mailed to your listed address on your profile (allow for a few weeks for it to arrive).
Once you receive the postcard from Google, we will work with you in adding the code to your profile. Once the code has been added you should start to see your details appear on the Google search & Google map (it may take a couple days for it to be picked up by Google).
